Allyson Felix

Allyson Nicole Felix was born November 18, 1985, in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained minister in the Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet elementary school. Felix showed an early aptitude for athletics when she was attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. She discovered her sprinting talent at that time. She finished second in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships after only 10 weeks following her very first tryout. Felix finished high school in 2003 and became a part of Adidas to become a professional athlete. The following year she was a student at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic gold at the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record in the 200-meter race with a time of 22.18. She was the youngest 200-meter world champion during the Helsinki World Championships. She was able to defend her title in 2007, beating her former Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix took part at the Olympics at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro as well as Tokyo always finishing in the top three in all her competitions.
